DoorDash 1099 for 2026: When You Get One and Where to Find It
DoorDash sends a Form 1099-NEC if it paid you $2,000 or more for 2026 work (the threshold was $600 for 2025). You’ll find it in the Dasher app by January 31. Uber, Instacart and the other apps follow the same $2,000 rule, and a Form 1099-K applies above $20,000 and 200 transactions. You owe tax on all your gig income even if no form arrives.
Does DoorDash send a 1099?
Yes, if DoorDash paid you $2,000 or more during 2026. The form is a 1099-NEC, and it shows your total DoorDash pay for the year, including customer tips and promotions. If you earned less, you won’t get a form, but the income is still taxable.
Where to find your DoorDash 1099
Since the 2024 tax year, DoorDash posts your 1099 in the Dasher app (older forms were in Stripe Express). Your annual earnings summary in the app shows how much of your pay was tips, which you need for the tips deduction.
The two forms gig drivers get
| Form | When you get one for 2026 | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| 1099-NEC | Paid $2,000 or more directly by the company | Pay for your work, often including tips and bonuses |
| 1099-K | Over $20,000 and more than 200 payments through a payment platform | Gross payments from customers, before the app’s fees |
Some states require a 1099-K at lower amounts.
Uber 1099, Instacart 1099 and the other apps
- Uber and Uber Eats: Driver app > Account > Tax Info, or drivers.uber.com, by January 31. You also get an annual tax summary.

No 1099? You still report the income
The IRS taxes all self-employment income. If your net earnings from self-employment are $400 or more, you must file and pay self-employment tax, with or without a form.
If your 1099-K shows more than you were paid
A 1099-K reports gross customer payments. Your app’s fees, tolls and other costs are deductible expenses, so your taxable profit is lower than the 1099-K amount.
